The word 'scientist' first appeared at a meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science in 1833. This term is used to refer to those who are engaged in scientific research, which is an emerging group of people who want to explore the laws of nature and put them into practice. However, scientists rarely appear in the public views, and they seem to be very far away from us. We rarely have the opportunity to peer and understand their work, because scientific research is often esoteric and philosophical. But their research content and results are also closely related to our lives, and these results affect the progress of society and even all mankind. The series has invited six scientists, including mathematician Yau Shing-tung, top Hong Kong scientists Vivian Yam, Nancy Ip, Albert Chan, Henry Wong and Liqun Luo.
