Hong Kong Seamen's Union, established on 6 March, 1921, has witnessed the pain and glory of Hong Kong's seamen in a century. It has always maintained an outstanding tradition of patriotism. As a prominent organization in Hong Kong's shipping industry, it has acted as a backup for Hong Kong's seamen in times of turmoil. The Union also helped the war against invasion of China, led in Chinese labour movement and contributed heavily to the Chinese Revolution. This programme reviews the century of Hong Kong Seamen's Union and discusses the history and significance of the Union in current times.
