200年前，就有人唱衰戲曲，說「戲曲將死」。但時至今日，它依然參與著人們的生活。節目尋訪紀錄了五個分屬於不同的地域和劇種的最基層的民間劇團：京劇、豫劇、桂劇、越劇和陽戲。用看似無關的戲曲，在這個「更新」、「淘汰」成為日常的大時代裡，講一些關於「留下來，活下去」的故事。

Starting from 200 years ago, some have been predicting that xiqu, or Chinese opera, is about to disappear. However, xiqu still echoes people's lives today. In this series, we follow five grass-root folk opera troupes of different types in different regions: Peking Opera, Henan Opera, Gui Opera, Yue Opera, and Yang Opera. These seemingly unrelated operas all tell a story of staying alive in a world that always talks about replacing the old with new and survival of the fittest.
