To welcome the Year of Horse, National Centre for the Performing Arts in China in collaboration with Phoenix Satellite TV the seventh time, presents a festive concert to the audience, the Grand Festive Music Concert 2014. The premiere of the musical gala will be on 29 January on Phoenix TV.
The musical gala gathers the world’s finest musicians to show the beauty of music and deliver the joy and bliss of New Year to the audience. Liao Changyong, being honoured as China’s most distinguished classical music baritone, has won many international awards including highest honour awards in singing field. Even the world renowned tenor, Placido Domingo, was deeply impressed by Liao. Soprano Huang Ying, who had participated in the famous Giacomo Puccini Opera “Madama Butterfly”, has led her to a great success in her career. The most-awaited rising star, Wang Yalun, is a genius pianist who learned piano at 4 and was the youngest prize winner of Bach Piano Competition held by Berkeley University at 5 due to her pre-eminent piano skills. Other remarkable musicians such as Violinist Lu Siqing, Cellist Qin Liwei will work with the Chinese musical instrumentalists, including Banhu musician Jiang Kemie, Dizi musician Zhang Weiliang and Percussionist Li Biao, to strike a chord with the listeners.
Continuing the rejoice of last year, the concert will be kicked-off by the song “ The Dance of Golden Snake”. The blending of Chinese and Western music instruments, the melodious voices and the splendid stage design are perfectly matched to bring a dynamic spirit to the audience and the year ahead.
