路遙識馬力 - 馬英九從政紀事

馬英九, 曾經被蔣經國稱讚為沒有缺點的年輕人，在2008年台灣大選以七百多萬票贏得壓倒性的勝利, 成功把台灣的政治天空轉綠爲藍。其後在2012年總統選舉中仍然以將近51.60%的得票率成功擊敗蔡英文，當選連任。政治道路一路走來看似一帆風順，可是政治生涯其實挑戰重重。自2008年上任以來，提出的各項經濟政策成效經常備受質疑；經歷台灣近五十年來最大規模的天災-颱風莫拉克襲捲台灣，令馬的危機處理能力受到考驗；及跟内地簽訂ECFA，台灣民衆意見不一。馬政府聲望滑落，馬英九及國民黨亦遭受負面報道抨擊。

In the Taiwan presidential election of 2008, the former chairman of Kuomintang (KMT) Ma Ying-jeou won 58% of the votes, an overwhelming victory in the election. In Taiwan's presidential election in 2012 , he beat his challenger, Tsai Ing-wen, by a margin of 51 to 45.7 per cent of the total vote cast and re-elected to a second four-year term in office. During his first presidential term, the effectiveness of government policy was questioned. Typhoon Morakot, one of the worst natural disasters in past 50 years, brought a great test on Ma’s crisis management ability. ECFA with China bred different views in the society. These are also turning into unpleasant political experience for Mr. Ma who was elected in 2008 by a respectable margin but whose popularity has been steadily dropping and has turned into the kind of test that can make or break his political career.
