To conquer a mountain - a literal challenge for climbers or a metaphor for facing life's difficulties. But, for a hardy group of porters who scale the rugged ridges of China's Mount Huashan, it's BOTH - and it's all in a day's work. They trudge up the steep slopes of one of China's five sacred Taoist mountains every day, simply to earn a meaner living. From drinking water to building materials, everything that's needed at the peak goes up 3,999 steps strapped to their backs and across their shoulders. Presenter Chen Xiaonan and producer Zhu Weiming met touching souls and some colorful characters as they earn minimum wage, but maximum respect for unimaginably hard work.
