十三歲男孩被鋼筷插入脊髓腔，全身癱瘓，四年後，卻奇蹟似的自行走回校園。百年來，醫學界認為脊髓神經損害後無法復原，全球有近千萬病患者終身癱瘓，坐困仇城。台灣的鄭宏志醫生於1996年發表哺乳類動物脊髓神經修復的首例，讓神經截斷的大白鼠神經得以再生，隨後十年，他一直運用這領先全球的脊髓神經修復技術，讓癱瘓的病患者恢復活動能力，重獲新生。《蘇醒的神經》紀錄這項領先全球的神經修復技術和病患者的身心經歷。

A thirteen year-old boy became paralyzed when a metal chopstick accidentally struck into his spinal cord, he miraculously walked again after four years. The nervous system is the most complex structure of the body. Millions of people all over the world are suffering from spinal injuries and diseases, this programme looks into the real-life stories of patients who are recovering after treatments by Dr. Henrich Cheng, a Taiwanese surgeon, who started research in spinal cord regeneration ten years ago and managed to revive the spinal cords of his paralyzed patients.
