由民政部門調查統計的數據顯示,當前中國失去雙親,或是找不到親生父母的未成年人,當中有部份由民政部門的兒童福利機構撫養,餘下的則由各式各樣的民間組織撫養。在廣東的潮汕地區,許多寺院擔起了撫養這些孤兒的責任。有些家長甚至直接把病殘的孩子丟在寺院門口。究竟這些孩子,在寺院裡過著一個怎樣的童年呢?
