Renowned sinologist, Michael Loewe, was born in 1922. He studied first at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom and then at Oxford. Subsequently, he was appointed the head of the Department of East Asian Studies in the University of Cambridge. He is now a Professor Emeritus of the University of Cambridge. Professor Loewe has dedicated most of his life to sinology. In his research on sinology, how is he different from the Chinese scholars?
