North Korea has long been perceived as an “iron curtain” which blocks the interaction from the outside world. Kim Jong-un, the supreme leader, is striving to shake off the stereotype by displaying a new vision of the country to the world.
Our crew was invited to Pyongyang again and arranged visits to facilities and spots such as the Korean Central Television, the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun and the newly-built amusement facilities. Unlike the previous visit which mainly focused on military development of North Korea, the programme captures the ordinary lives of the locals and their smiling and satisfied faces. Though wearing a happy face, what still remains unknown is the other side of the seemingly satisfied life.
