In 1949, the People's Liberation Army led by Mao Zedong gained victory and declared statehood. On the other hand, the Nationalist government led by Chiang Kai-shek retreated to Taiwan. From then on, China and Taiwan have been under separate rules. Under the leadership of Chiang Kai-shek, a troop of less than 2000 people once counterattacked Yunnan of China in 1958. This is the last battle between Kuomintang and the Communist Party of China in history. However, this group of Kuomintang soldiers, who were fighting on foreign land for Chiang Kai-shek, have been living on foreign land with their descendents until now.
