Following the rapid development of China’s society and economy, it has now become the world’s second largest economy. However, there are still 14 poverty areas and 129 thousand poverty villages in China, containing over 2 billion poor people who are still waiting for help. The programme follows stories of the people in poverty areas to uncover their effort and struggle in trying to change the fate of themselves and families. Through living together with featured people, our hosts take a look into the traditions and living conditions of the people in poverty areas, as well as their thoughts about getting rid of poverty and achieving prosperity.
By playing the role of an observer, our hosts go deep into the poorest areas in China to get closer to the poor people there that are affected by environmental causes and natural or man-made calamities. Join our hosts to discover the reasons that led to their poverties, as well as the difficulty and inconvenience faced by them. Meanwhile, the programme also collaborates with well-known figures in the society to sort out possible ways for the poor to get rid of poverty.
