Two decades into reunification with China, “Horse Racing Will Continue” is the most representative phenomenon of Hong Kong under “One Country, Two Systems”. In the 1980s, facing the changeful future, Hong Kong people felt at ease with the commitment of keeping the horse racing. Horse racing is one of the most unique lifestyles in Hong Kong. It is a collective carnival of the elite and the public, and has a decisive influence in the society. The Hong Kong Jockey Club is the world's one and only non-profit-making gambling institution. Through the national sport- horse racing, it has let the wealth accumulated from gambling flows to charity organizations, which achieves social resources redistribution and promotes the sustainable development.
