雖然中國與梵蒂岡尚未正式建立外交關係，但教廷對遙遠的東方大陸卻關注已久。從澳門登陸中國，以利瑪竇為代表的天主教傳教士推開了東西方對話的大門，爭論也未能阻礙他們和中國人彼此理解的步伐。節目借中梵關係回暖有望建交的契機，回顧歷史上四次基督宗教尤其是天主教來華，探討由此帶來的對東西方文化交流的影響。同時，也探討兩種文明在碰撞和融合之中取得的經驗和教訓，對當下探索兩國關係富有積極意義。



When the China-Vatican relationship is warming up, we look back in history to examine the four times that Christianity, or mostly Catholicism, came to China. From the outcome of these conversations of two distinctive cultures, we discuss lessons learned that may provide an insight on current exploration of bilateral relations.
